The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education is recognized for its addaption of Orton-Gillingham for general classroom teachers and paraprofessionals. General classroom teachers enjoy our Orton-Gillingham methodology because it gives them the necessary tools to work with the bottom third of their class. These kids who are having difficulty learning to read, fall behind and may never catch up. In addition the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education offers staff development programs in modern and comprehensive research based Orton-Gillingham for special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and reading tutors. We also involved with curriculum development in reading instruction.
We have made available an Orton-Gillingham product for parents to use with their children. This is a highly structured, multi-sensory, and phonics based program called "Sensational Strategies for Teaching Beginning Readers." We have found many concerned parents who appreciate this stat-of-the-art, tutorial phonics based program for homeschool or tutorial activities in reading. Parent see their children quickly acquire the reading skills they need to succeed.
Title 1 funds can be used for IMSE programs. The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education recognizes the importance of early intervention. We feel the importance of decreasing the number of children who can not keep up with their literacy skills in K thru 2nd grades. IMSE wants all elementary children at grade level when they enter the 3rd grade. We can customize our staff development workshops for the special needs of each school district. The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education's comprehensive Orton-Gillingham methodology is the answer for remediation of at risk students. Orton-Gillingham techniques are the state-of-the-art for giving assistance to children who are below grade level or who have dyslexia, learning disabilities, or other problems preventing them from learning to read.
